I just wanted to thank Dave, Joyce, Monty and the other folks at Klose for such a wonderful pit. I would also like to share that a Klose Pit has been a great investment.
Like many of you, I am always attracted to quality and when I started looking to upgrade from multiple Weber kettles, Klose cookers came up time and time again.
I bought a 24x72 mobile cooker almost three years ago and have enjoyed every minute of it.
First, there is just the joy of such a quality piece of equipment. The wor st thing I have ever heard said about workmanship and design was the fender could have been a little wider ( I got the wide tires.) I am proud to be seen with the pit.
Second, the pit is a joy to cook on. I turned out great BBQ from the start and it co ntinues to reward increased skill.
Third, it is the gift that keeps on giving. In my family, cooking for others is the ultimate expression of love and caring. I grew up eating at other's tables and finally have the opportunity to give something back. We host one family get together, 75+, every year with many impromptu "come on over" events throughout the year. In terms of entertaining friends and family, it has been a much better investment than pools or bigscreen tv's. I have also met many wonderf ul friends through BBQ. Be ready, you will have many "opportunities" to share your skills with others.
Most folks thought I was a little crazy spending that much on a BBQ pit, including my wife and Dad. Anyone that has been to one of our cookouts leav es with a little better understanding. My wife (the saint!) now ranks this a one of the best foolish ideas I ever had (she has many to choose from). My Dad, he just asks "When are you going to fire it up again?".
Great BBQ does not require a great coo ker. Likewise many folks have a lot more important needs than a Klose. But, if you can afford it, and will use it, a Klose cooker is a source of pride and a rewarding investment.
